Scandal In Our Government!!!...

Does anyone really stop and think who is representing us in our government?? Most people probably assume that our government offials are actually doing their job while they are in office, however that is not the case with the recent governor of New York Eliot Spitzer. Monday, secrets of corruption and involvement in a prostitution ring surfaced and caused a big stir around the city. Governor Spitzer who was considered to be a "corruption-fighting politician" also known as "Mr. Clean" was accused of paying 80,000 dollars for high-priced call girls. As soon as this information hit the public ear, this Democrat was being pressured to resign as governor. During a news conference, Spitzer was required to offer an apology to his wife, family, and people of New York City. Based on the information during this conference he seemed almost sorry for what he has done. He claims that he will now dedicate his time to try to regain the trust of his family. Spitzer was caught on a wiretap making plans to meet with a call girl named Kristen in a Washington hotel room on Feb 13, 2008 for the price of 4,300 dollars. According to Assembly Republican leader James Tedisco, "He has disgraced his office and the entire state of New York, he should resign his office immediately." I would have to say that I agree with Mr. Tedisco because if he was dishonest and corrupt with this situation, what else has he done or will possibly do in the future. We definately do not need, or want someone like Eliot Spinzer representing us in our government because he is not what we as a nation stand for. Especially considering the fact that in 2004, he took part in an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrest of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges. This is not a positive event for our nation!!...I truly feel for his three teenage girls and especially his wife. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes and the nation can look forward to a brighter future!!... Well at least I hope so...
